Omaha Running Club

A nonprofit organization

The Omaha Running Club promotes healthy lifestyles through running and walking and provides events, organizes informative sessions on fitness topics, hosts social gatherings, and coordinates volunteer opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities.

Our programs include:

  • NDCS Partnership. The Omaha Running Club has partnered with the Nebraska Department of Corrections; we run a club at the Omaha facility and give inmates a opportunity to improve not only their physical health but develop characteristics of accountability through the sport of running. Read more:
  • Community Programs. Step Into Running, Kids Run the Nation, and the Omaha Distance Clinic are programs we proudly offer the Omaha community - building fellowship and fitness in engaging activities throughout the year.
  • Race Services. The Omaha Running Club helps other local events with race management and timing services. We routinely support fellow non-profits and local organizations plan and execute a successful event!
  • Trail Cleanups. As part of Keep Omaha Beautiful our members routinely can be found picking up trash and repairing damage in the Omaha trail system.

The Omaha Running Club has supported the Omaha running and walking communities since the early 1970s; the roots of the club are in the Elmwood Park Track Club, The Omaha University Track Club and The Plains Track Club. These early groups evolved into today's Omaha Running Club. The Omaha Running Club is a member of the Road Runner's Club of America and is committed to growing the active environment of Omaha by spreading the message of the benefits of physical activity. We are committed to building a strong network of fitness enthusiasts and to being a source of support, training, and encouragement to the Omaha community.
